Primary Purpose

The primary purpose of this job is to enter orders, schedule work and production, supervise and train team members, receive, store, and stock items, check dates, change pricing of items going out of code, and handle all department tasks as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Promptly review the work schedule, check equipment and supplies, comply with PPE requirements, and prepare for duties.
* Perform markdowns and track loss.
* Operate all equipment in the deli, carryout, café, and cheese areas.
* Clean and sanitize work surfaces, tools, equipment, display cases, floors, and counters.
* Make sandwiches, subs, and wraps, label them, and place them in the display case per SOP.
* Prepare pizza per SOP using the turbo oven, package, and serve to customers.
* Help customers, cut and slice meat or cheese, portion deli food into containers, weigh, and label items.
* Produce grab-and-go items for the self‐serve case.
* Roast chicken: carry cases to the worktable, place on roasting racks, roast, wrap, and label.
* Fry chicken: dip in batter, fry, wrap, and label.
* Manage oil in the roaster, dump, and dispose into rendering bin.
* Order smoked products from meat department if applicable.
* Train and demonstrate smoker program and process.
* Break down and clean equipment every 4 hours.
* Operate U‐boat for receiving: load cartons, push to department, unload, and store goods.
* Follow SOP for marking Flashfood donations.
* Use cleaning materials (wipes, brooms, hoses, squeegees, mops, pails, cleaners) to keep the area sanitary.
* Prepare and stock all products on the sales floor.
* Track loss using known loss tracking (KLT).
* Maintain recordkeeping functions (temperature charts, sanitation logs, production planning).
* Organize sales floor cooler and freezer.
* Plan weekly Circular ad.

General Rules

* Report all accidents and file incident reports to the supervisor within 24 hours.
* Use first aid kit for all injuries.
* Follow instructions and ask questions whenever in doubt.
* Report unsafe conditions to supervisor.
* Wear appropriate apparel and footwear per company policy.
* Horseplay is forbidden; no running on premises.
* Know emergency evacuation routes, exits, and alarms.
* Wear PPE where required, including cut‐resistant gloves with knives or blades.
* Adhere to proper food safety and sanitation habits.
* Use proper lifting procedures.
* Keep floors and work areas clear and clean.
* Never leave operating machinery unattended.
* Smoke only in designated areas; this is a smoke‐free shop.
* Understand company policy, procedures in the manual and handbook.
* Know MSDS information for all materials used.
* Complete Lockout/Tagout training.
* Complete Confined Space training.
* Complete Right‐to‐Know training.
* Complete any ELM courses added to the page.

Qualifications

* Authorized to work in the U.S.
* Can communicate and understand company policies and safety regulations.
* Complete a food safety certification every 5 years and teach new team members importance.
* Meet ergonomic and physical requirements and base scores, with or without reasonable accommodation.
* Meet company performance standards including regular attendance.
* Ability to use or learn equipment and tools used for the job.

Physical Requirements

* Shift hours: minimum 4‐hour shifts or more depending on business needs.
* Job cycles: continual max.
* Lift/carry: 50 lbs.
* Standing 55%, walking 45%, sitting 0%.
* Category IV lifting, carrying, P/P up to 55 lbs.
* Max pull static: 20 lbs.
* Exposure to temperatures ranging from freezer to back‐room environments, including weather conditions.
