About the role
This newly created Business Development Manager role is all about growth. Reporting directly to the NSW State Manager, you'll take the lead in building the company's presence across the region, unlocking new accounts and strengthening long-term partnerships. It's a consultative, high-value sales role where average deal sizes range from $50k through to multimillion-dollar partnerships, with sales cycles involving deep technical engagement and customer trials.
Responsibilities
* Drive new business development across food and adjacent industries.
* Research, identify, and convert target accounts through strategic engagement.
* Build and maintain strong customer relationships, delivering tailored packaging solutions.
* Partner with internal teams (sales, marketing, QA, product) to deliver value-driven outcomes.
* Stay across competitor activity, market trends, and regulatory shifts.
* Present compelling proposals and deliver against agreed sales and margin targets.
To be considered for this role, you will need to demonstrate
* Strong technical understanding of flexible packaging (pouches, films, trays).
* A proven track record in business development, account management or specification sales.
* 7+ years' experience within packaging, food manufacturing, FMCG, or a closely related sector.
* Established networks with target accounts (e.g. major food and beverage manufacturers).
* Commercial acumen, adaptability, and a consultative approach.
* A confident yet coachable style, with the ability to both lead conversations and collaborate.
