About the role
As the Assistant Restaurant Manager at Miine, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our vibrant Newcastle restaurant. In this full-time position, you will work closely with the General Manager to oversee all aspects of the restaurant's day-to-day activities, from staff management to customer service and financial reporting.
What you'll be doing
1. Assist the General Manager in leading and motivating front of house, bar & kitchen teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences
2. Assist with staffing schedules, training and development to ensure optimal team performance
3. Monitor inventory, ordering and cost control to maintain profitability
4. Liaise with kitchen staff to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of menu items
5. Handle customer feedback and complaints in a professional and solutions-oriented manner
6. Contribute to the development and implementation of operational policies and procedures
7. Support the GM in achieving overall business objectives and KPIs
What we're looking for
1. Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a similar assistant restaurant management or supervisory role
2. Australian work rights are required for this position
3. Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team
4. Excellent customer service orientation and problem-solving abilities
5. Proficient in financial management and inventory control
6. Sound knowledge of food safety, liquor licensing and other industry regulations
7. RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certificate is required before commencing employment
8. Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
9. Passion for the hospitality industry and commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences
