Pinjarra Golf Club is an outstanding 18-hole golf course located in the rapidly growing Peel region of Western Australia, just southeast of Mandurah and has a very exciting future ahead. The course is highly regarded, with the greens consistently considered amongst the best in the State. The Club has approximately 460 members in playing membership categories and a very strong green fee support base, receiving over 15,000 green players per year. The Board has set an objective and implemented many innovative membership packages to increase membership and to develop its facilities and operations to support growth and membership loyalty.

About the role

To be considered as a potentially successful candidate for this position, the Club are seeking a natural leader, with a keen eye for detail, effective time management skills, outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. The applicant must be passionate about creating and fostering a healthy workplace culture and be capable of working with a variety of different stakeholders, including but not limited to the Club's Board, members, staff, sponsors, guests, visitors, and Local Government officers. Finally, they must have a thirst for the provision of service excellence across all areas of golf and most importantly, have a genuine interest in growing golf participation within the Club and community, allowing our facility to achieve its development and growth ambitions.

Candidates must possess a minimum of 3-5 years of management experience in golf, hospitality, or sport recreation section.

Applicants must have current Australia work authorisation at the time of application.

Key responsibilities

* Oversee and guide all aspects of the Clubs primary functions (Course, Golf shop, Clubhouse and Administration).
* Work closely with the Board and the Shire of Murray (Local Government electorate) to identify grant funding opportunities and initiatives that will assist the Club with progressing towards its future developments.
* In consultation with the Club's supportive Board, assist in the implementation of the strategic direction of the Club and leading the delivery of compliance deliverables and other KPI's.
* Drive a culture of service excellence across all areas of the Club's operations.
* Ensure the Club's property is maintained to a high standard.
* Ensure compliance with all relative legislative requirements including Industrial Relations, Work, Health & Safety, ATO requirements and the Club Constitution.
* Evolve the Club to a higher-level service-focussed environment for members, guests, sponsors and the wider community.
* Implement programs to build employee, member and guest engagement.
* Support and develop staff across all departments, identifying and implementing procedural, training, and operational needs.

Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate would ideally have:

Experience as a senior-level manager in managing the day-to-day operations of a golf club, and a demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships with a Board, members and Department Heads.

Proven record of having delivered positive business growth at a golf club (or similar size club).

Proven ability to build strong relationships with all stakeholders including members, staff and the wider community.

Strong financial acumen with demonstrated ability to create and manage budgets, cost control, achievement of targets and deliver outcomes to plan.

Preparation of Board packs and financial reporting is essential.

Ability to support and guide the Board through compliance, quality and regulatory issues including overseeing adherence to the Club Constitution.

Exposure to a variety of marketing activities including but not limited to website, social media platforms and strong member and visitor communication strategies.

Experience in overseeing the delivery of major programs – e.g. capital works projects.

Familiarity with MYOB, MiClub and SwiftPOS.

Strong networks in the golf industry, GMWA or similar.

Proven record of positive community engagement including contracting of club sponsorships and corporates.

WA Approved Managers Certificate.

Responsible Service of Alcohol Certification.

A passion for self-improvement.

Pinjarra Golf club offers a positive working environment with respect to working hours, however, given the seven-day a week nature of the industry, weekend and evening hours will be required.

The position offers a base remuneration of $110,000 per annum plus superannuation.
