Responsibilities
- Assist the Registered Nurse (RN) to assess, plan and implement individual patient care and the routine functioning of the ward/unit, including escalation of patient care issues and concerns.
- Accept delegated tasks or duties that require basic skills, training and experience.
- Gather information about patient care needs by observing patients and reporting to the RN to assist with assessment, planning and evaluation of care.
- Demonstrate positive teamwork and communicate effectively with patients and team members.
Requirements
- A Certificate III relevant to the clinical area is highly regarded.
- Ability to undertake shift work covering 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
- May involve travel to various facilities or units within the North West Hospital and Health Service.
- Pre-employment screening including Criminal History checks.
- This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
- A period of probation may apply.
About the Organization
Yellagundgimarra Hospital Doomadgee is a Level 2 remote hospital under the Rural and Remote Clinical Services Capability Framework. The facility provides 24-hour acute inpatient and accident and emergency care. Culturally appropriate care is provided by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health workers, nursing, medical, administration and operational staff.
Employment details
- Permanent full-time position available.
- Base salary ranges between $65,828 and $72,079 p.a. (Nurse Grade 1 (Band 1)).
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution.
