Your Role
We invite applications from qualified educators for the position of Kindergarten Assistant to support St Anthony's Catholic Kindergarten, North Rockhampton. This is a term-time contract position for an immediate commencement, until 5 December 2025, with the opportunity for a continuing position in 2026. This role is 19 hours per week based on a 5-day fortnight (Monday, Tuesday and alternate Wednesday).
We also welcome applications from individuals seeking casual employment within our Rockhampton region kindergartens. This position reports to the Kindergarten Director or the person responsible for the centre, with key relationships including children, families and the Early Learning & Care Manager.
Responsibilities
 * Assisting with classroom activities, including lesson preparation and resource organisation
 * Providing one-on-one or small group support to students, including students with additional needs
 * Monitoring student progress and behaviour, providing feedback to teachers
 * Assisting with administrative tasks, such as record-keeping and organising educational materials

About You

Experience in a similar role or working with children is desirable but not essential. We value those committed to continuous growth and eager to contribute to our educational communities. A minimum of a Certificate III in Children's Services or equivalent (ACECQA approved) is required.

Mandatory Requirements
 * A current valid Blue Card under the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 and a valid Suitability Notice
 * A minimum Cert III in Children's Services (or working towards) or equivalent; a Diploma in Children's Services or equivalent is preferred
 * First Aid Certificate, CPR, Anaphylaxis & Asthma Training (ACECQA approved)
 * Child Protection competencies or willingness to obtain: CHCPRT025, CHCPRT001, CHCPRT026, CHCPRT002, CHCECE057
 * Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner
