Finance Manager / Accountant

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced
Finance Manager / Accountant
with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, preferably within the social and community sector. The ideal candidate will hold a CPA, CA, or CFA qualification and possess a comprehensive understanding of all financial aspects, including statutory accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, accounts management processes and risk management. This role combines hands-on accounting with financial management responsibilities, requiring both technical expertise and the ability to guide a small finance team. You will be utilising established financial systems to provide insight, improve processes, and identify opportunities for efficiency and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee the organization's financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulations and best practices.
• Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Prepare and present detailed financial reports to the executive team and board of directors.
• Manage accounts receivables processes to optimize cash flow and financial stability.
• Identify and assess financial risks, implementing effective management strategies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial goals with organizational objectives.
• Mentor and support finance team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a senior financial role, preferably in the social and community sector.
• Candidates with finance experience in other sectors will be considered, with preference given to those with social and community sector background.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline (CA/CPA qualified or working towards)
• Must hold a complete CPA or CA qualification.
• Understanding of government funding / service provision frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of financial management practices, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
• Proven experience in accounts receivables management and risk assessment.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Proven ability to interpret financial data to provide actionable insights.
• High attention to detail, integrity, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain financial matters to non-financial stakeholders
