ESS, part of Compass Group, provides integrated hospitality and support services to the Australian Defence Force across Australia. We're currently seeking energetic and customer-focused Gym Attendants to join our Sport and Recreation team.
In this front-line role, you'll be the welcoming face of the gym — ensuring a safe, professional, and engaging environment for Defence personnel. You'll manage daily reception duties, conduct fitness inductions, and help maintain the facility to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Greet and assist gym users, providing exceptional customer service and support
* Conduct fitness centre inductions and maintain accurate user records
* Oversee daily operations, including equipment checks and general maintenance reporting
* Ensure compliance with all safety and hygiene procedures
* Support the coordination of fitness activities, programs, and events
* Contribute to a clean, safe, and welcoming facility environment
* Report hazards, near misses, or maintenance issues promptly and constructively
What we're looking for
* Current First Aid and CPR certification
* Cert III or IV in Fitness (highly desirable)
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Reliable, professional, and proactive approach to customer service
* Experience in gym or recreation facility operations highly regarded
* Demonstrated commitment to safety and team collaboration
* Ability to obtain and maintain a National Police Check and Defence clearance
* Australian Citizenship is a mandatory requirement (Defence security clearance required)
