Karratha Primary School (PS) are seeking to establis h a pool of Kindergarten to Year 6 Teachers fo r permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Note: This position is being advertised as part of a recruitment pilot designed to simplify the application process for teachers. A mandatory CV template is provided for use. Application requirements include character limited responses to address only 2 Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) domains at application stage. The remaining AITSL domain will be assessed as part of the further assessment stage, for shortlisted applicants only.

The Role

We are actively seeking primary teachers with exceptional interpersonal skills, demonstrating a natural ability to communicate effectively and foster genuine relationships with parents, students, and colleagues. Our ideal applicants would promptly establish a positive and inclusive classroom environment, setting high expectations and cultivating a growth mindset, while nurturing students' social and emotional development.

Suitable applicants will ideally exhibit exemplary teaching skills, with a strong motivation to excel, and a commitment to delivering best practices. The capacity to excel in an environment characterised by whole-school connected practice, collaborative team structures, and a commitment to ongoing professional growth is highly valued.

Quality Teaching

Our teachers develop a strong knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and are skilled in effectively differentiating the curriculum to cater for Kindergarten to Year 6 students. We are focused on teaching using an evidence-based instructional model and developing the priority areas we have identified in Teaching for Impact.

Mobility appointments for permanent metropolitan and south west teachers

Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.
