Model Supervisor - Expression of Interest

Your role
Manages time effectively across multiple projects, delegating, acting as a catalyst for ideas and directly leading asset modelling when required.
Works in collaboration and under the direction of the VFX Supervisor and Head of Department, supervising, quality-controlling, and delivering models for CG assets that satisfy the style and quality of the productions.
Consults with the VFX Supervisor, CG Supervisor, Head of Department and Leads to assess the technical feasibility of elements in the designs and implement production-friendly workflows that maintain the vision of the film.
Responsible for bidding the work on multiple projects, driving the overall modelling schedule, and balancing artistic and productivity requirements in tandem with production management, Head of Department and Leads.
Awareness of the impact creative decisions have on a show's schedule & budget, and willingness to adjust creative choices when possible to stay on schedule and budget.
Aware of limitations (technical, aesthetic, client-handling skills, etc.) and seeks expert advice / escalates when appropriate.
Attends relevant show production and team meetings to promote effective communication throughout the production team.
Works directly with the Head of Department, Model Leads and CG Supervisors to manage troubleshooting and technical efforts in pipeline workflow development.
Collaborates with Supervisors, Production and Leads to assign project work to modelling artists based on individual skills and strengths.
Contributes to the documentation for tools and processes.
Tests new tools and offers feedback to developers.

Aid the Head of Department and Talent in providing performance feedback, facilitating overall team-building efforts, and maintaining positive morale among the crew.

Show proven leadership abilities and ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse skill sets.
Maintain a collaborative, team-player attitude: open and receptive to new ideas, constructive criticism, direction and changes.
Have exceptional time-management, organisational and delegation skills.
Bidding and scheduling experience is preferred.
Expert knowledge and experience in Maya across organic, hard surface, environmental and conceptual tasks.
Expert knowledge and experience in Zeno for asset management, face shapes and shot-based sculpting.
Expert knowledge and experience in managing and processing photographic and scan data reference materials.
Proficiency in ZBrush or equivalent sculpting software is required.
Proven experience as a lead on 4+ shows.
Experience in 3D CG for digital animation or visual effects film is preferred.
Proficiency with Linux/Unix is required.
Have an extremely creative and critical eye for guiding the quality of the asset.
Technical expertise in other disciplines, such as Houdini and scripting, is a plus.
