About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Materials Planning Manager (MRP Lead – D365 Specialist) to lead the end‐to‐end materials planning function for our Melbourne manufacturing site. This pivotal role, set within a mass‐customisation environment, requires senior level expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) MRP, with a strong focus on ensuring system‐driven planning accuracy, optimal inventory levels, and alignment between demand, procurement, and production.
This position will be reporting into the Plant Manager based at our Hallam manufacturing site. As the site owner of MRP logic and execution, the role will drive planning discipline, automation, and continuous improvement, while providing strong cross‐functional leadership and building data‐driven processes that enhance service, inventory performance, and overall operational execution.
Key Responsibilities
* Own and lead the MRP process in D365, ensuring planning outputs are accurate, stable, and aligned with demand, supply, and operational constraints.
* Convert demand into supply plans by translating forecasts, project requirements, and spare parts demand into effective replenishment and production plans.
* Optimise inventory by managing safety stock, reorder settings, and order quantities while balancing service levels and working capital.
* Proactive monitoring & maintenance of production shortage lists to ensure delivery of components in line with production requirements.
* Maintain planning data and governance by ensuring master data accuracy, clean MRP inputs, and disciplined planning processes across the site.
* Provide leadership and supervision to the Planning and Purchasing Team.
* Lead and develop the planning team by building capability in D365, data‐driven planning, and exception management.
* Coordinate cross‐functionally with Production, Procurement, Engineering, and Customer Service / Projects to make sure plans are practical and executable.
* Drive continuous improvement by increasing automation, reducing manual planning, resolving system issues, and improving overall MRP performance.
Qualification and experience
* 5–10+ years' experience in materials planning within a manufacturing environment.
* Experience in mass customisation, engineered‐to‐order, or project‐based manufacturing.
* Demonstrated ability to lead a team, ideally in a high‐paced production environment.
* Extensive quotation and negotiating experience are mandatory.
* Proven hands‐on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain / Operations.
* Deep expertise in MRP logic, planning parameters, demand planning integration, and multi‐level BOM environments.
* Exposure to the manufacturing industry (specifically complex electro‐mechanical assembly environments) is advantageous.
* Strong analytical capability, with advanced Excel and Power BI preferred.
* Demonstrated ability to diagnose and correct MRP and system issues.
* Detail‐oriented and highly analytical.
* Strong cross‐functional communication and influencing skills.
* System‐driven mindset rather than spreadsheet‐driven planning.
* Strong continuous improvement focus.

* Egalitarian company structure which empowers employees and nurtures leaders.
* Potential International mobility opportunity (depending on vacancies).
* Be a critical contributor to a transformative project at the heart of our company's growth strategy.
* Professional and career development benefits and education investment.
* Birthday leave.
* Volunteering opportunities with the Nadia and Alf Taylor Foundation.
* Recognition program linked to health and lifestyle benefits.
* Opportunity to develop new skills and broaden your expertise through hands‐on experience in a major transition.
