The Organisation
Our client is a leading manufacturer operating across multiple Australian sites. They are now seeking a driven Senior Accountant to support continued expansion and help elevate the finance function.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Group Reporting Manager, this role acts as a key support and 2IC within the finance team.
The Senior Accountant (Hybrid MA-FA) will maintain the integrity of the general ledger, lead month-end processes, and support budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
You'll play a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy, providing commercial insights, and driving continuous improvement across systems and reporting frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, including preparation and posting of journals.
* Complete balance sheet reconciliations, including intercompany, bank, and fixed assets.
* Manage accruals, prepayments, and depreciation schedules.
* Assist with month-end management reporting, including preparation of executive summaries.
* Support and coordinate external audit requirements.
* Prepare and lodge BAS and FBT returns in line with ATO obligations.
* Coordinate stocktake activities and ensure accurate reconciliation of results.
* Conduct sales and customer analysis to support commercial decision-making.
* Assist in cash flow management development and working capital improvement initiatives.
* Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and ensure accurate capitalisation and depreciation.
* Support ERP enhancements and automation projects to improve reporting efficiency and data accuracy.
The Ideal Candidate
* Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
* Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar accounting role (manufacturing, FMCG, packaging or industrial experience advantageous).
* Strong Excel and Microsoft Office capability; ERP experience highly regarded.
* High attention to detail with strong analytical capability.
* Clear and confident communication skills with the ability to partner across the business.
* Proactive, process-driven, and able to influence continuous improvement.
