ACC Singleton (ACCS) is located in the Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, offering programs from Prep to Year 12. The College has experienced growth in student numbers and improvements in student learning results in recent years.

About The Role
The Assistant Head of Junior School will support the Head of Junior School in maintaining a positive culture and excellent teaching practice as the College grows. ACC Singleton advocates teacher-led Direct Instruction within a knowledge-rich curriculum, and the successful applicant will support and enhance this approach to student learning.
The role includes leading in the following areas:
* Maintaining a positive behaviour culture through managing mid-level behaviour issues.
* Overseeing curriculum compliance and the implementation of new syllabi.
* Overseeing the Junior School Student Leadership program.
* Supporting the Head of Junior School in the organisation of key Junior School events.
* Managing weekly Junior School events such as student briefings and assemblies.
The role also involves a 0.6 teaching allocation. This position will commence in due course.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you must:
* Be able to display the capacity to improve student learning and wellbeing outcomes.
* Be able to receive feedback on your teaching and implement changes.
* Be supportive of an explicit instruction approach to teaching, based in a knowledge-rich curriculum.
* Be able to effectively plan for, collect and analyse educational data, then devise appropriate strategies and interventions to improve student outcomes.
* Be able to demonstrate excellent teaching as described by the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
* Have an active Christian faith, suitable tertiary qualifications and accreditation.
* Hold a current Employee Working with Children Check.
