Job description
HLCS is currently recruiting for female casual Disability Support Workers (as this is the preference of our participants) who have mental health experience to join our team in our mission to empower our clients in achieving their NDIS goals and realizing their life aspirations.
The shifts we're recruiting for are as follows:
Monday to Friday 12pm-6pm (and be able to cover Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday when necessary)
Both participants have dogs, so if you are allergic to or are fearful of dogs we will not be able to roster you on these shifts.
Key role:
As a Support Worker, your primary role will be to offer support to participants. You will play a vital role in promoting their autonomy, ensuring they have choices and control over their lives, and assisting them in reaching their individual goals. Your dedication to empowering participants and helping them achieve personal growth will be paramount in this position.
The range of tasks you may undertake as a Support Worker includes, but is not restricted to:
* Providing prompts for personal care activities
* Accompanying clients to their appointments
* Assisting in facilitating community engagement
* Ensuring a safe and positive environment during community outings
* Supporting clients in achieving their NDIS objectives as well as personal goals
Responsibilities:
* Ensuring compliance with the service agreement requirements of each funded package and meeting all specified deadlines
* Assisting participants in attaining positive outcomes aligned with their personal goals as outlined in their NDIS plan.
* Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation.
* Working independently within the community or the participant's home.
* Actively participating in corporate and community events.
* Transporting participants to various services and appointments
* Delivering high-quality support to participants with varying levels of needs.
* Providing detailed reports after each shift.
* Undertaking additional tasks as assigned by the manager.

Essentials:
The successful candidate will also be required to possess or have the ability to obtain the following:
* NDIS Worker Screening clearance
* Blue Card certification
* A Queensland Drivers License
* Comprehensive car insurance
* First Aid and CPR certificates
* NDIS Workers' Orientation module completion
* Previous experience supporting individuals with mental health and/or ASD (desirable)
These additional qualifications and clearances are necessary to ensure the safety and well-being of our participants, as well as to comply with regulatory and organizational requirements.
