We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Human Resource Officer to join our HR team of 6. This role is ideal for a motivated HR professional who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys connecting with people, and has a strong background in recruitment.
About the role
As the Human Resource Officer, you will play a key role in supporting SWAMS' workforce needs. This position has a strong emphasis on end‑to‑end recruitment, supporting new employee onboarding, and building relationships with hiring managers and employees across the organisation.
Key responsibilities
* Leading end‑to‑end recruitment processes across the organisation
* Coordinating and delivering staff inductions
* Identifying and attending career fairs, community events, and networking opportunities
* Building talent pipelines and proactive sourcing
* Ensuring a positive candidate experience
* Maintaining HR documentation and supporting general HR administration
* Working collaboratively with managers to understand staffing needs and priorities
About you
We are looking for someone who is engaging, organised, and passionate about working with an organisation that supports our local Aboriginal community.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Demonstrated experience in recruitment (essential)
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
* Confidence in representing SWAMS at external events such as career fairs
* High attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality
* Have cultural awareness
* Knowledge of HR processes and employment legislation (desirable)
