ROLE OVERVIEW
As a Fleming’s Truck Driver/Diesel Mechanic Assistant you will be responsible for driving one of our fleet trucks to deliver stock to customers as well as a variety of duties within the workshop when required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES
Logistics
* Driving any of the Fleming’s truck fleet for the purpose of delivering products to customers in safe and timely manner,
* Multi-drop runs that may include pick up from various nurseries around Metro Melbourne,
* Working closely with the Despatch department,
* Customer Contact and paperwork management,
* Loading and Unloading truck with the despatch team as required,
* Maintain vehicles to the highest standard,
* Responsible for cleaning of trucks every week,
Workshop
* Maintain and repair a wide variety of farm, landscaping equipment and machinery,
* Regular servicing of Flemings trucks and fleet vehicles,
* Coordinating works to be completed at specialist workshops, including driving trucks to specialist workshops,
* Workshop and field service work across Melbourne,
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
* Australian HR/HC Licence,
* Strong understanding of the Melbourne Metro and surrounding areas,
* Ability to be away for overnight and interstate trips,
* Excellent knowledge of Australian Road Regulation by State,
* Be proficient in diesel engine repairs and maintenance,
* Possess relevant qualifications relating to Diesal Mechanic,
* 2 – 3 years experience as a qualified diesel mechanic ideally in similar environment,
* Able to take direction and work within a small team,
* Be motivated and possess a strong work ethic,
* Be a self starter, with the ability to work unsupervised,
* Full understanding of workplace safety and OHS,
* Excellent communication skills,
* Have a great work ethic and attitude,
