Job Overview
The role of a Managing Editor involves overseeing the editorial and production processes of an internationally recognised scientific journal.
This position requires coordinating all editorial operations from submission to publication, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness.
Responsibilities:
* Coordinate the full editorial workflow from submission and peer review through to publication.
* Provide support to Editors-in-Chief, Deputy Editor-in-Chief, Associate Editors, and Editorial Board members.
* Ensure adherence to editorial and ethical standards, guaranteeing accuracy, consistency, and timeliness.
* Collaborate with the publisher, authors, and reviewers to maintain journal quality and visibility.
Key Qualifications:
* A tertiary degree or higher in a science and/or health discipline.
* At least three years' experience in academic publishing, including peer review, editorial processes, and publication ethics.
* Familiarity with scientific or medical terminology.
* Proficiency in editorial management systems and Microsoft Office.
