About the Role
Going into 2026 we're looking for a highly skilled, hands-on and motivated Financial Accountant to join our growing team and portfolio of mortgage funds.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, in this role you'll be responsible for the day-to-day financial management and accounting for Funding's operations, working closely with external stakeholders and our close-knit team of fellow financial services professionals based here in the heart of the Gold Coast.
What Will You Be Doing?
* Deliver operational excellence and accuracy in the recording, reconciliation and reporting of financial transactions and records.
* Support the preparation of management accounts, financial statements, income tax returns and other regulatory and stakeholder compliance reports.
* Prepare monthly workings files supporting regular journal postings in Xero.
* Prepare and post monthly journal entries in Xero.
* Liaise with external stakeholders and service providers as required from time to time.
* Identify and champion smarter ways of working to further leverage and enhance our tech enabled systems and processes.
* Support the wider Finance and Funding Operations teams to deliver ongoing continuous improvement to boost productivity and operational efficiency.
What Are We Looking For?
* A 'can-do' attitude and proven ability to work collaboratively within a small but growing team.
* Highly accountable, transparent and reliable operator who is comfortable at both being a trusted team player and an autonomous high achiever.
* 2-5 years in accounting in a similar or adjacent industry, ideally with a CA or CPA qualification or working towards.
* Advanced Excel skills with a demonstrated ability to effectively and efficiently collect, manipulate, report and interpret diverse data-sets.
* Comfortable dealing with change and a proven background in driving process improvement.
* Highly organised with a focus on detail and delivering solution orientated outcomes within fast paced environments.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
