About the Role
The Utility Officer plays a vital role in ensuring the school grounds, buildings, and facilities are clean, safe, and well maintained. This hands‐on, proactive position requires trade‐level skills and the ability to coordinate maintenance tasks, supervise others, and respond to daily operational needs. The successful applicant will support the Catholic Identity and Evangelising Mission of the school and collaborate with staff, contractors, volunteers, and the broader school community.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinating daily building and grounds maintenance, including cleaning tasks, rubbish removal, and minor repairs.
* Overseeing turf care, playground upkeep, and replenishment of soft fall.
* Planning and undertaking specialised maintenance tasks and small building projects.
* Maintaining tools, equipment, and chemical storage in line with safety standards.
* Setting up furniture and equipment for school events and sporting activities.
* Managing daily security routines, including unlocking/locking buildings.

Qualifications & Requirements
* Valid Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (RWVP).
* Current and satisfactory National Police Criminal History Check.
* Current Tasmanian driver's licence.
* Trade Certificate or Certificate III (or relevant experience).
