About the opportunity
We are looking for a permanent full time Administration Officer Level 4 to support the Department of Medical Genomics at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, NSW Health Pathology.
The successful applicant will work with a great team of Genetic Pathologists, scientists and allied health staff who work closely together to provide genomic/genetic services to our referring clinicians. The position will entail being the primary point of contact and communication for the department, supporting the Genetic Pathologists and Laboratory Manager with general office duties as required, as well as more general administrative duties such as rostering, patient billing, procurement and general administrative support to the lab staff as directed by the Laboratory Manager.
What you\'ll be doing
The Administration Officer provides high-level administrative and office support to the Department of Medical Genomics at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital within NSW Health Pathology.
The role supports the Head of Department and senior staff, manages reception and enquiries, coordinates communication, prepares rosters, agendas and minutes, maintains records, and assists senior team members as required.
All duties are performed professionally, confidentially and in line with NSW Health policies to support the effective delivery of Medical Genomics services.

* Proven computer literacy and strong keyboard skills with speed and accuracy. Confidence in working with a range of software programs including but not limited to rostering with HealthRoster, patient billing using Pathnet and iProcurement.
* Proven experience working in a high workload and pressure area with successful track records to provide best performance as well as knowledge of clinical and corporate applications and work practices, and their relationship to other health care processes.
* Demonstrated ability and initiative to work both as part of a team and independently, supporting your team members and management, with sound knowledge of administrative procedures in health setting.
* Demonstrated strong customer focus and commitment to providing exceptional services to all clients (internal and external to the organistion).
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including strong written and verbal English and be capable of professionally liaising and working with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation using different modes of communication in a technical and business context.
* Demonstrated experience in diary management, scheduling meetings and coordinating conference room bookings, maintaining meeting agendas and recording meeting minutes, with proven ability to assist in the development and maintenance of rosters.
