We are seeking a dedicated Livestock Research Assistant to contribute to the success of our research projects.
The role involves working closely with livestock in pen and paddock environments, performing routine animal handling and operational tasks. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in establishing experiments, collecting samples, identifying anomalies, and communicating effectively with all stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
* Livestock Care: Perform routine animal handling and operational tasks
* Protocol Design: Design and perform routine protocols to achieve research objectives
* Sampling: Collect samples according to defined standards
* Anomaly Reporting: Identify and report anomalies and co-design solutions
* Experimentation: Assist in establishing experiments and monitor, summarise, and record results
Requirements:
* A tertiary level degree or equivalent relevant work experience in livestock husbandry
* Demonstrated livestock experience and general husbandry understanding
* Accurate record keeping skills
* Data entry and analysis software proficiency
* A current driver's licence
