About the Project

GenusPlus Group is proud to be delivering works on the NWTD project, a major infrastructure initiative that will play an important role in strengthening network capability and supporting future energy needs. The project represents a significant opportunity to contribute to large-scale, high‐impact works in a dynamic and fast‐paced environment, with a strong focus on safety, collaboration, and project excellence.

About the Role

As Cost Controller on the NWTD project, you will play a critical role in supporting project performance through accurate cost management, forecasting, reporting, and commercial insight. Working closely with project delivery, commercial, and leadership teams, you will help monitor financial performance across the project lifecycle, ensuring timely visibility of budgets, commitments, cost trends, and forecast outcomes.

This role is suited to a commercially minded project controls professional who can translate complex cost data into meaningful insights that support decision‐making. You will contribute to maintaining strong financial discipline across a major infrastructure project, while partnering with key stakeholders to identify risks, manage change, and improve overall project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

* Prepare accurate and timely project cost reports in line with project control processes and procedures.
* Produce project budget variation reports, project cost forecasts, actual cost reports, and monthly project expenditure reports for Project Managers.
* Prepare project actual versus projected cost summaries, project profit estimate reports, and monthly financial statements for the Senior Leadership Team.
* Identify and report potential and actual impacts to project cost budgets.
* Undertake cost studies as required by Project Managers.
* Maintain and update the project cost database for all project costs.
* Collaborate with team members to support project performance goals and deliver high‐quality outcomes.
* Review work to ensure accuracy and identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, and reporting.
* Uphold company policies, procedures, values, and safety expectations at all times.
* Actively contribute to a safe working environment and participate in SHEQ initiatives, reporting, and compliance activities.

Skills & Experience Required

* Demonstrated experience in cost control, project controls, or cost engineering within major infrastructure, utilities, energy, construction, or EPC/EPCM project environments.
* Proven ability to manage project budgets, forecasts, cost‐to‐complete, cash flow, accruals, commitments, and variance analysis across complex, high‐value projects.
* Strong understanding of cost performance reporting, including the ability to identify trends, analyse cost drivers, and provide clear recommendations to support project decision‐making.
* Experience in change management and variation control, including assessing the cost impact of scope changes, contractor claims, and approved or pending variations.
* Sound knowledge of project controls principles, including the integration of cost, schedule, and progress measurement within a project delivery environment.
* Capability using project controls and reporting systems such as Primavera P6, SAP, Oracle, InEight, or similar platforms.
* Strong reporting and data visualisation skills, with experience in Power BI or similar tools highly regarded.
* Commercially astute, with the ability to interpret contracts, monitor supplier and subcontractor commitments, and support broader project commercial outcomes.
* Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Business, or a related discipline.

Benefits

* Opportunity to work on a major infrastructure project with a leading Australian contractor.
* Collaborative team environment with a strong focus on safety, performance, and continuous improvement.
* Exposure to senior project and leadership reporting.
* Career development within a growing business delivering complex projects nationally.
* Inclusive workplace culture built on integrity, collaboration, innovation, safety, and mateship.
