About our client
Our client is a market leader providing professional services for major events and facilities in Australia. This is a newly created role to lead and elevate their payroll function.
The Role
Lead and manage the payroll team, including the Payroll Manager and Payroll Officer.
Ensure compliance with Fair Work legislation, industrial awards, taxation, superannuation, and statutory obligations.
Conduct internal audits and implement controls to reduce risks.
Manage payroll system configuration and optimization.
Coordinate integration between payroll system and HRIS with People & Culture.
Interpret awards and ensure correct application of pay rates, penalties, and entitlements.
Collaborate with People & Culture on employee data and reporting.
Partner with Finance on reconciliations, reporting, and month-end/year-end processes.
Generate payroll reports, metrics, and insights for leadership.
Identify system improvements, automation, and policy updates.
Candidate Requirements
Extensive payroll management experience in medium/large businesses.
Deep understanding of Australian payroll legislation and compliance.
Experience managing and developing payroll teams.
Proficiency in payroll system configuration and HRIS integration.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills to engage stakeholders.
