The organisation provides specialist information, education and support to individuals, families, carers and healthcare professionals, while raising vital funds to support research and advance better treatments. Reporting to the Director of Fundraising, the Philanthropy Specialist will play a key role in growing philanthropic income and strengthening donor engagement across multiple streams, including major donors, bequests and trusts and foundations.

This is a varied, hands‐on role focused on building and managing a portfolio of supporters, developing personalised donor journeys and delivering strong stewardship outcomes. You will identify and secure new opportunities, manage grant submissions and proposals, and support the growth of bequests and major giving programs. Working closely with internal stakeholders, you will contribute to strategic planning, reporting and continuous improvement of fundraising initiatives.

About YOU

* 3–5 years' experience in philanthropy, major gifts, bequests or a related fundraising role
* Proven ability to build and manage strong donor relationships and deliver fundraising outcomes
* Experience preparing compelling funding applications and donor communications
* Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
* Experience working with CRM or donor databases
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong attention to detail and ability to work both independently and collaboratively
* Ability to engage sensitively with people affected by health conditions and diverse communities
* Certificate or Diploma in Fundraising/Marketing/Sales/Philanthropy or similar field
* Professional member of FIA (Fundraising Institute Australia)
