We are excited to offera Full-Time position for a Level 4 Senior Community Support Worker role for ourHousing & Accommodation Support Initiative (HASI) Program in the Bowral /Campbelltown area. Usual hours of workvary from Monday to Sunday between 6am to 8pm with a rotating roster.

The Opportunity
Customer Service exists todeliver exceptional experiences for every customer, every day, and ensurewellbeing is at the heart of everything we do. As the Senior Community Support Worker, your role exists to collaboratewith customers and assist the team leader in the operations of the team.
Assist in the operational and procedural direction of the team.
Assist the Team Leader with roster coordination and other admin tasks
Support change initiatives and model positive behaviours in line with New Horizons core values.
Develop, implement and review person centered, recovery oriented individualized support plans for customers, which incorporate their identified wellbeing needs and aspirations.
Seek out innovative ways to enhance the customer experience.
Provide support to customers to improve their independence by assisting with living skills, transport, social activities, medication and personal care (if required), as well as other support as required.
Collaborate with customers to explore both their practical and complex needs and support customers during complex problem resolution.
Develop and maintain professional relationships and networks with customers and stakeholders.
Provide support in a culturally sensitive way, and in keeping with our organisational values.

Tobe successful in this role, candidates must have the following:
Tertiary or appropriate certificate level qualification in Mental Health, Community Services, Disability or similar
Must be able to work independently and as part of a team, with commitment to ongoing professional development.
Proven experience mentoring teams with commitment to ongoing development to build capability, demonstrating a proactive, supportive and inclusive mentoring style which contributes to a constructive and innovative workplace culture
Strong competency in working with people with a Disability and/or Mental Illness and understanding of relevant disability service standards, Mental Health Act, and other legislative and sector requirements.
Capability to relate to people from differing cultural backgrounds.
Ability to navigate and adapt to change.
Strong communication and listening skills.
Demonstrated technical and computer literacy in Microsoft office, reporting and rostering systems.

Working with Children Check (or any equivalent check available in the State orTerritory in which your employment is based); and
National Police Background Check that discloses your suitability to haveunsupervised contact with vulnerable groups of people (not older than 3 months)
