About the Role
Toyota Material Handling Australia (TMHA) is seeking an experienced Workshop Technician to support our Adelaide Branch located in Gepps Cross.
In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out pre delivery of new and used units and also a range of maintenance services including planned maintenance, repairs and modifications to a wide range of Toyota Forklifts and other industrial equipment.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Service, diagnose and repair Toyota Material Handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling machinery.
- Carry out scheduled maintenance and preventative servicing to ensure equipment runs safely and efficiently.
- Inspect, troubleshoot and test mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems using diagnostic tools and technical manuals.
- Perform pre-delivery inspections (PDIs) and prepare new equipment for customer delivery to TMHA’s quality standards.
- Overhaul and rebuild components such as engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and brakes.
- Follow Toyota’s Service Excellence and Safety Standards, ensuring all work is completed accurately and safely.
- Maintain accurate service records and job documentation using TMHA’s systems and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with service coordinators, parts interpreters, and fellow technicians to deliver outstanding customer service.
- Keep the workshop clean, organised and compliant with TMHA’s housekeeping and environmental guidelines.
- Participate in ongoing technical training to stay up to date with the latest Toyota innovations and technologies.
Qualifications, Requirements & Skills:
- Completion of a Certificate III in Light or Heavy Automotive Mechanical Technology, Mobile Plant Technology, or equivalent trade qualification.
- Current driver’s licence (manual preferred but automatic may be acceptable in some locations).
- Previous experience working with forklifts, material handling equipment, or mobile plant machinery is highly desirable.
- Electrical and hydraulic knowledge is advantageous.
- White Card or equivalent safety training is a plus.

- Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical diagnostic skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation.
- Problem‑solving skills : quickly identify issues and implement effective solutions.
- Attention to detail : ensure work is completed safely and to Toyota’s high standards.
- Positive time management and organisational skills to handle multiple jobs efficiently.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with colleagues.

- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and ongoing training programs.
