Marvellous Household Manager / Nanny - Paddington, QLD
Start Date: ASAP - ideally before mid-February 2026
Pay Rate: $35-$45 per hour + superannuation and leave entitlements (negotiable based on experience)
Contract Type: Part-time (minimum 12 months)
Hours / Days: 30 hours per week
· Mon - 4:15pm - 10:15pm
· Wed - 7am - 7:00pm
· Thurs - 7am - 7:00pm
· Flexibility for occasional changes or extended hours when parents run late / events
· Additional hours and extra days during school holidays preferred
About the Family
This professional family has two young children and enjoys spending time outdoors, especially trips to the coast and exploring nature.
The children are a 5-year-old boy and a 3-year-old girl. The eldest is outgoing, energetic, and loves LEGO, construction, soccer, and socialising with friends. The youngest is happy and spirited, enjoying ballet, swimming, and trips to the park and playdates.
The family's beloved nanny of over three years has recently left to go travelling, so they are now seeking a warm, reliable, and proactive replacement. A cleaner and laundry assistant are already employed, so household cleaning is not part of this role.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking a part-time nanny/household manager who:
· Thrives in the kitchen as well as with children.
· Brings warmth, fun, and energy to the household while maintaining a structured and organised environment.
· Plans engaging home activities and creative ways to spend time with children on afternoons and off days.
· Is patient, calm, and communicates clearly with both children and parents.
· Is experienced in childcare, confident managing routines, meals, and activities.
· Can assist with light household management tasks such as tidying, cooking, grocery collection, and bedroom organisation.
· Confident swimmer (this family has a pool).
Tasks / Responsibilities
· Sole care of children during scheduled hours, including full day with 3-year-old on Wednesday + before and after school/ kindy Wed -Thurs.
· School and kindy drop-offs and pick-ups (parent and nanny split responsibilities).
· Planning and supervising outdoor, social, and educational activities.
· Bathing, dressing, and general care.
· Light tidying after meals, play, and activities (e.g. tidying toys, clothes, and children's bedrooms as needed and encourging independence by getting the kids to help).
Household Management (Thursday during school hours):
· Grocery shopping + pack away, post office runs, and errands
· Online grocery shopping with guidance, gradually taking initiative to plan and order meals.
· Meal preparation for children and parents, including batch cooking.
Transport:
Family vehicle provided for work purposes.
Requirements:
· Blue Card / Police Check
· First Aid and CPR Certificate
· Some experience in a similar role
· Two reference checks
· Driver's licence
