We have a current opportunity for a Systems Engineer (COMSEC), on a contract basis within the Defence sector. The role is based in Canberra, ACT. The contract is for an initial 24‐month period, with a two‐year extension option. DSS Skill Set: Level 3 – Systems and Software Engineering – Systems Engineering.
Responsibilities
* Lead the implementation of the formal COMSEC device assurance process.
* Liaise with stakeholders across the Department of Defence (and other Government entities as required) to assure compliance to mandated requirements in the specified timeframes.
* Understand and analyse the current capabilities of COMSEC entities to assure product interoperability within the Australian environment and international interoperability.
* Track updates, changes, challenges and developments regarding COMSEC devices and standards of coalition and allies.
* Work with the Australian COMSEC equities assurance requirements.
* Conduct educational sessions to develop COMSEC awareness.
Minimum Mandatory Requirements
* AGSVA Security Clearance
* Recognised expertise and extensive demonstrated experience (minimum 15 years) as a systems engineer.
* Experience with High Assurance Cryptographic Equipment (HACE) and commercial grade COMSEC capabilities, especially their use within Defence networks.
* Experience working in the Defence environment, with a minimum previous 8 years of employment.
* Strong planning, coordination and communications skills to support working closely with all COMSEC stakeholders and Industry representatives.
* Experience in the development or maintenance of assurance frameworks.
* Conduct educational sessions to develop COMSEC awareness.
* Eligibility to apply for ITAR access.
* Ability/experience in briefing senior stakeholders on technical subjects.
