About the Team
The Protective Security section, within the Integrity Branch of the Chief Counsel & Integrity Division, plays a critical role in building and maintaining the department's pro-integrity culture. The Physical Security Team ensures effective day-to-day management of security across all DISR properties.
The Opportunity
This role allows you to contribute to enhancing the department's security posture, supporting the mission by engaging across the organisation to build a strong security culture and secure working environment.

Understanding of, or relevant experience in applying, Commonwealth Government security requirements, including the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF).
Key Responsibilities
Administer the use of physical security systems and resources across all DISR facilities, including electronic access control systems, keys, key cabinets, security containers, alarms, intruder detection systems, national guarding services and CCTV.
Undertake routine physical security inspections of DISR sites across Australia, preparing site inspection reports and briefing papers.
Monitor, document and issue security breaches resulting from non-compliance with the PSPF and departmental policies.
Ensure accurate recording of incidents, support investigations and contribute to continuous improvement through analysis of non-compliance trends.
Administratively support the zone accreditation process in accordance with the PSPF and Australian Government security guidelines.
Provide security compliance advice to the department in line with the PSPF.
Assist in the preparation and management of security governance, including physical security policies and standard operating procedures.
Eligibility
Applicants must be Australian citizens. The position requires a Negative Vetting 2 (NV2) security clearance, which successful candidates must obtain and maintain.
