We're a fully remote, cloud-based company, and we're looking for meticulous proofreaders who value flexibility and quality work.
The Opportunity
We're looking for independent contractors to proofread documents for academic and healthcare research projects. You'll receive completed transcripts (already transcribed from audio) and your job is to proofread them by following along with the audio against the document to ensure research-ready quality: correcting errors, adding missing content, ensuring proper formatting, spacing, labels, spelling, and punctuation.
Must Have:
* Excellent English grammar, spelling, and punctuation
* Strong attention to detail
* Reliable internet connection and your own computer
* Ability to work independently
* Australian residents: Valid ABN (Australian Business Number)
* Ability to invoice and manage your own taxes
Nice to Have:
* Previous proofreading, editing, or transcription experience
Compensation
This is piece-rate work, meaning you're paid per transcript you proofread. Efficient proofreaders earn $18-23 AUD/hour on average. Your speed naturally improves with experience, and you control your earning potential through your efficiency.
Typical earnings: Contractors working 20-30 hours/week earn $ weekly.
Commitment
Flexible - choose your own hours. Most proofers average 20-30 hours/week.
