About the role
This role contributes to the success of the City by connecting and empowering Hobart-based businesses and entrepreneurs through the coordination, development and promotion of business support and activation opportunities.
Role accountabilities include:
* Support Businesses: Respond to the needs of businesses and entrepreneurs in the Hobart Local Government Area (LGA) to enhance the city's reputation as a business destination.
* Engage Stakeholders: Develop and implement strategies with key stakeholders to assist in the city's economic development.
* Market Analysis: Conduct research to identify market trends and promotional opportunities that benefit local businesses and the city's economy.
* Project Planning: Contribute to cross-disciplinary projects that align with the city's economic development objectives.
* Collaborate: Work with various departments and other local government entities to identify funding and commercial opportunities for local businesses.
* Representation: Represent the city's interests at forums, events, and workshops as required.

* Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications and/or demonstrated three or more years' experience in a related field.
* Current Drivers Licence.
* Demonstrated and significant experience in engaging with stakeholders and using economic development practices to identify and address issues, gaps, and opportunities.
