Payroll Officer
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Payroll Officer to join our team. As a Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for providing quality and consistent payroll/administrative activities and support to our organisation, employees and other related parties.
The role works as an integral part of the People & Culture team, reporting directly to the Payroll Team Leader. Your primary focus will be on ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll, maintaining personnel records, and providing excellent communication skills to staff.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide information and assistance to staff through various forms of correspondence.
* Undertake administrative duties, including scanning, emailing, photocopying, typing, document production, data entry, record keeping, and filing.
* Accurately maintain personnel records.
* Prepare and process accurate payroll reports.
* Assist in the preparation and processing of the fortnightly pay run, including checking timesheets within required deadlines.
* Prepare, process, and report on workers compensation claims, including reviewing and reconciling reimbursement schedules.
* Process employee terminations, including providing certificates of service when required.
* Contribute positively to teamwork and adopt a co-operative approach to achieving outcomes.
Requirements:
* Qualifications in payroll or 2 years' experience in a similar role.
* High proficiency in payroll data entry, including experience working in a high transaction volume environment.
* Demonstrated competence with payroll systems and processes.
* Demonstrated knowledge and application of confidentiality principles.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Demonstrated time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks.
* Experience with multiple awards and enterprise agreements.
* Experience using Preceda payroll software or equivalent system.
* Experience using Emplive or equivalent time & attendance system.
* Demonstrated knowledge of the education, health, disability, or aged care sectors.
