Network Development Engineer, BERE Operations
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support data centers, servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment to ensure continuous access for our customers. The ideal candidate has proven technical leadership, experience in proactive engineering, optimization, and operational support in large-scale environments. Key job responsibilities
* Provide critical on-shift network operations support for diagnosing and mitigating large-scale events
* Conduct deep dives for major events, document findings, and implement corrective actions
* Design and implement new alerts to improve detection mechanisms
* Develop simple, sustainable, and repeatable solutions and processes
* Identify recurring platform issues and collaborate with senior engineering teams for resolution
* Work with Engineering & Deployment teams to ensure operational readiness for new deployments
* Maintain standards and ensure compliance with policies
* Create and review documentation, procedures, and knowledge transfer materials
* Troubleshoot network and interconnectivity issues, including device configuration and application interactions
* Automate repetitive tasks using scripts and tools
* Contribute to hiring and team development

Qualifications
* 4+ years experience with internet routing protocols
* 4+ years experience in Linux/Unix environments
* 1+ years scripting experience with Python, Bash, Shell, or Perl
