Field Sampling Technician
This role involves collecting environmental samples and conducting general fieldwork in remote locations near Charters Towers, Queensland.
About the Role
* Collect environmental samples and perform general fieldwork activities.
* Walk several kilometres per day across varying terrain to access sampling locations.
* Operate a manual 4WD vehicle to travel to and from field sites.
* Work outdoors in hot, wet, dusty, and unpredictable weather conditions.
* Be comfortable encountering wildlife when working in the bush.
The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, be reliable and safety-focused, with good communication skills. This casual position offers a competitive hourly rate for the full 12 hours each shift (breaks included).
Key Responsibilities:
1. To collect and record environmental samples as required by the project.
2. To conduct site inspections and surveys to identify sampling locations.
3. To operate manual 4WD vehicles safely and efficiently.
4. To maintain accurate records of sampling data and results.
Requirements:
* A strong understanding of environmental sampling procedures.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Physical fitness to withstand challenging outdoor environments.
