About the RoleAs a General Hand/Apprentice, you'll play an essential role in keeping our parks, open spaces, and community facilities safe, vibrant, and well-maintained.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Maintaining the City's parks, gardens, and infrastructure to a high standard.
* Operating and maintaining tools, machinery, and other equipment.
* Processing timesheets, work orders, and related documentation.
* Liaising with colleagues, contractors, and the public.
* Participating in training and professional development opportunities.
* Ensuring compliance with City policies, safety procedures, and workplace legislation.
About YouWe're looking for someone practical, proactive, and passionate about working outdoors and contributing to the community. You'll enjoy being part of a busy team and be open to learning and developing your skills in one of the fastest growing local governments in Australia.
To be successful, you'll need:
* Basic knowledge or experience in Horticulture or parks maintenance.
* The ability to balance study and on-the-job training
* Strong teamwork and communication skills.
* A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to adapt to change.
* Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
* Capacity for manual outdoor labour.
* A valid C-class driver's licence.
* A Construction Safety Awareness Card (White Card).
* An understanding of workplace safety, hazard identification, and safe work practices.
