Our client, CRUISER TRAILER AND CHASSIS PTY LTD, is looking an experienced Welder to perform MIG, TIG, and stick welding, along with custom fabrication for both industrial and commercial projects.
Tasks Include:
* Perform MIG, TIG and ARC welding on steel, aluminium and other metals for the manufacture, assembly and repair of trailers, chassis and related components.
* Fabricate trailer frames, drawbars, cages, ramps, toolboxes and custom metal parts in accordance with production specifications.
* Read and interpret blueprints, workshop drawings, measurements and technical plans to accurately cut, shape and assemble materials.
* Set up and align components prior to welding to ensure correct fitment, structural strength and dimensional accuracy.
* Weld metal sections using appropriate techniques to achieve strong, clean and durable finishes.
* Inspect completed welds and fabricated components to ensure compliance with quality standards, load requirements and safety specifications.
* Identify defects, cracks or misalignments and carry out repairs through re-welding, grinding, cutting or adjustment as required.
* Operate workshop machinery and tools including welders, grinders, drills, cutters and lifting equipment in a safe manner.
* Grind, polish and finish welded surfaces to prepare trailers and components for final assembly, painting or delivery.
* Assist with installation of axles, suspensions, guards, brakes, cages and other trailer fittings where required.
* Carry out maintenance checks on welding machines, tools and workshop equipment to ensure proper operation.
* Maintain accurate records of materials used, completed jobs, repairs undertaken and production progress.
* Work closely with fabrication and assembly staff to meet deadlines and customer specifications for standard and custom trailer builds.
* Follow workplace health and safety procedures, use appropriate PPE and maintain a clean and organised workshop area.
* Contribute to continuous improvement by suggesting practical manufacturing, repair and efficiency enhancements.
Qualifications and other requirements:-
* Have a Certificate III qualification or higher in welding/fabricating.
* At least 1 year of experience as a welder in the last 5 years.
* Familiarity with metal properties, welding quality control and industry standards.
* Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with precision.
* Good physical fitness and stamina to work in a fast-paced environment.
* Solid awareness of health and safety requirements.
