Diesel Motor Mechanic Job Description
Seeking a skilled Diesel Motor Mechanic to join our team at Hawk Logistics.
As a key member of the workshop, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of temperature-sensitive goods across the country by maintaining and repairing our fleet of modern trucks, most under 3 years old, including Kenworth and Volvo models.
* Perform routine maintenance on diesel-powered vehicles and machinery, utilizing diagnostic software to determine faults and plan repairs.
* Conduct thorough inspections using scanning tools and computers to diagnose issues.
* Carry out necessary repairs using hand and power tools.
* Keep accurate records of service and repairs.
* Implement preventative maintenance inspections to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Minimum 3 years of experience as a Diesel Motor Mechanic.
* Desirable but not essential: experience with Kenworth, Mercedes, Cummins, and Volvo.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
* Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
* Certificate III in Automotive Diesel Engine Technology or equivalent qualification.
