**Role**: Practice Lead

**Location**: NSW South / ACT

**Employment Type**: Full time 40 hours

At Goodstart our vision is the establishment of the Teaching and Learning for All Children team as an "Expert Service" within CSO, which is defined as an on-demand and responsive professional support structure, providing centres with direct access to expertise, at their point and time of need. This team will continue to provide high quality teaching, learning and practice support and development to our centre teams and the organisation. The focus for the team will also extend to support tier 1 universal additional needs teaching strategies as we recognise this is an essential element in effective teaching and learning delivery.

As a Practice Lead you will be in the forefront as a leader of the State's practice improvement team, providing leadership on all matters pertaining to quality Early Childhood Education and Care, ensuring the delivery of the nationally consistent and targeted teaching and learning support. Through leadership and advocacy, you will be accountable for ensuring the Practice Team will be sufficiently equipped to support the quality practice uplift journey and the delivery of the National Quality Standards and Early Years Learning Framework to an exceeding standard.

In order to be successful in this role you will have exceptional coaching and influencing skills and be able to guide and support centres on their practice journey. You will need to be a self-starter, who can work in an autonomous way and can keep pace with a busy workload with competing priorities.

Your Impact;
Analyse Practice data for each centre and present recommendations to State Managers on the Quality Improvement Plan Practice actions for the centre, working together to ensure a coordinated and aligned approach for centres.
Escalate to State Managers any Practice needs of centres that are surfacing through the Helpdesk that require support beyond what can be provided via the phone or the Partners, and advocate for a timely and effective solution that meets the centre's needs.
Lead the Practice Partners to ensure the delivery of high quality and consistent Practice across centres, delivered through effective coaching and modelling in order to build sustainable teaching and learning capability in our centre teams.
Provide leadership, coaching, and co-ordination of state practice improvement teams supporting centres to lift practice through the use of Environmental Rating Scales (ERS), nationally and state accredited Early Learning Frameworks such as the Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Standards.

Connect and observe the teaching and learning for all children strategies and environments of centre teams, as a means of assuring and validating the centre's self - assessment.
Leverage practice, A&R and ERS data for managed state to advocate to State Managers on the Quality Improvement Plan Practice actions for the centre, working collaboratively with State Managers and their teams to ensure a coordinated and aligned approach for centres.

Lead the implementation and centre-based improvement of the ERS, the NQS, the EYLF and other approved learning frameworks across your state, with a particular focus on high priority centres identified by the State Manager.
Enable the delivery of high quality, consistent and effective teaching and learning for all children strategies to be delivered through nationally led, state-focused Practice Leads and Partners and helpdesk.
Drive a culture of collaboration and co-creation with centres and users working across the team and organisation to gain broad perspective on approaches.
Take a lead role in state practice improvement plans which may include safety frameworks and systems in response to identified critical incident as part of the State Leadership Team.

**You'll bring to the table**:
Minimum 4-year Early Childhood qualification from a recognised university.
A tested track record of teaching and learning practice uplift delivery
Experience in working at a "State" or national level in practice uplift
Extensive practice-based early childhood education experience (aged birth to 8 years).
Sound knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework, other State based approved/recognised learning guidelines and the National Quality Standard.
Experience of leading a team and being a team member.
Sound understanding of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
A current and valid Working with Children Check/Police Clearance in accordance with relevant State or Territory legislation.
