The ABS is seeking talented **ongoing APS** staff with various skills and experience who are interested in a temporary or permanent at nominal level transfer to work in one of our 10 offices.

For over 100 years we have used data to produce key statistics, tell stories, provide insights and inform Australia's important decisions. The ABS is continually exploring new data sources, data collection methodologies and data analysis techniques to provide the highest quality data and statistics. There are huge opportunities for the ABS to do more with the right people, which is why we need people with good analytical skills, sound judgement, a drive to learn and try new things, and desire to innovate through collaboration.
**Our opportunity**
Positions are office based and may be filled at the APS 2-6 levels ($56,776 - $104,135) or Executive 1 and 2 levels ($113,288 - $163,493). Roles vary and are diverse across all areas in the ABS. Such roles may include:
- accounting and finance
- administration
- communications and marketing
- human resources
- information and communications technology
- information and knowledge management
- intelligence
- legal and parliamentary
- monitoring and audit
- project and program
- research
- service delivery statistical
- strategic policy
- statistics
The positions will depend on the demands of the work area and the ABS work programs.
Temporary employment may vary from a few weeks to up to 18 months and full-time or part-time depending on the requirements of the business area.
**To be eligible for Section 26 Transfer - Temporary or Permanent**
- hold Australian Citizenship
- be a current ongoing Commonwealth employee under the PS Act
- complete a health clearance
- be willing and eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance to the appropriate level if applicable to the position
