AO7 Procurement Officer
$104.64 per hour + Super
Contract until September 2026

Six Degrees is partnering with a large Queensland Government organisation to recruit an experienced AO7 Procurement Officer for a temporary contract opportunity. This role will suit a procurement professional with strong experience across strategic procurement, contract management, governance, and stakeholder engagement. Working within a fast-paced project environment, you will provide expert advice, support procurement planning and delivery, and help ensure procurement activities are aligned with broader organisational and government objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing strategic procurement activities from planning through to contract management
* Providing advice on procurement processes, specifications, evaluation, governance, and administration
* Supporting the development and implementation of procurement strategies, frameworks, and plans
* Managing supplier relationships and acting as a key point of contact on contract matters
* Monitoring contract performance, compliance, and reporting requirements
* Working closely with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and recommend suitable procurement solutions
* Contributing to procurement capability uplift across the broader team
To be successful, you will have:
* Demonstrated experience in procurement and contract management
* Strong understanding of governance, probity, and compliance requirements
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills
* Strong organisational skills and sound commercial acumen
* The ability to work both strategically and operationally in a government or similarly complex environment
Highly regarded:
* Procurement-related qualifications
* Experience working within Queensland Government procurement frameworks
* Exposure to ICT or complex procurement environments
