This position is based in the Murray River area of Albury/Wodonga in regional Victoria and is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quality Manager to join our Distribution Transformer Business Unit.
Key responsibilities include:
* Accountability for the Quality Department and responsible for Quality Management within the Distribution Transformer Business unit.
* Define and execute the Quality Strategy and Business Plan in consultation with the Management Team.
* Manage the assurance and process improvement resources.
* Continually improve the Integrated Management System (IMS) employed within the Business Unit to conform with applicable standards and achieve the targeted quality objectives.
* Ensuring that documentation and processes support employee training to reduce the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) and improve employee safety.
* Drive business process and efficiency programs to identify waste and recommend improvement opportunities to achieve business objectives.
* Provide technical expertise to the Business in the application of processes, standards, problem solving and quality resolution.
* Train and develop Employees to meet the minimum requirements of the Quality Management System and its processes.
* Manage external audits to ensure ongoing accreditation and customer compliance.
* Manage the internal audit programs to ensure that the management system processes are delivering their intended outputs.
* Report on the performance of the Quality Management System to the targeted Quality objectives.
* Provide hands-on support to the Quality Team and other departments as required.
The successful candidate will have:
* Knowledge of AS4801, ISO9001, ISO14001 (or other Standards as required).
* Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma or similar tools.
* Previous experience in Quality Management within the manufacturing industry.
The following will be well regarded:
* Transformer knowledge.
* Experience in a manufacturing environment and well versed in 'Design for Manufacture' principles.
* Degree in Engineering (Industrial/Process/Mechanical/Electrical).
* Risk Management Qualification.
* Continuous Improvement Qualification.
* Diploma or higher in Quality Management or Auditing.
* Diploma or higher in Business Management.
