VicVet values the diverse and transferable skills applicants bring from a range of industries. However, for this position, we do require prior veterinary reception experience to ensure we can deliver the highest standard of client and patient care. This role also involves supporting and mentoring junior reception team members, which is best achieved by someone with established veterinary reception expertise. For these reasons, applicants without this specific experience will not be considered.
About the position:
Casual position with the expectation of a minimum of 2 shifts per week, with the potential to increase shifts in 2026.
* Providing outstanding customer service over the phone and face-to-face.
* Welcoming clients and their pets to the clinic.
* Managing appointments for clinical staff.
* Liaising with vets and vet nurses to ensure efficient daily scheduling.
* Processing invoices and payments.
* Ensuring a neat and tidy presentation of the reception and waiting areas.
About you:
* Previous veterinary reception experience is essential.
* A genuine passion for helping people and the maturity to navigate sensitive or difficult conversations with empathy.
* Strong multitasking and time-management skills, especially in a busy clinical environment.
* Excellent communication skills with clients, colleagues, and management.
* A proactive team player who can jump in, get things done, and continuously learn on the job.
