Reporting to the Director, Capital Works, you will be responsible for supporting this busy building team who manage the University's construction and refurbishment projects. You will prepare project documentation, cost estimates, manage technical drawings and liaise with internal stakeholders and external contractors. You will ensure compliance with all statutory and safety requirements and support the project managers in delivering timely & cost-effective outcomes. In this position you will contribute to the University's infrastructure development and maintenance goals.
Key requirements for the role are:
* Coordinate minor works projects including documentation, drawings, cost estimates and site inspections
* Support project managers and stakeholders by providing technical assistance and advice and maintaining communication throughout the project lifecycle.
* Monitor project progress and compliance with contract conditions, safety standards and statutory requirements
* Liaise with consultants, contractors and regulatory bodies to arrange permits, licences and ensure governance standards are met
* Report on project milestones, risk and non-conformance to ensure transparency and accountability
* Proven aptitude in managing project finances, progress payment and settlement.
You will:
* Be able to read and modify technical drawings and project plans
* Have proficiency in contract administration and project lifestyle management
* Have strong analytical, problem-solving and time management skills
* Be familiar with project management software and Microsoft Office
* Communicate proficiently with good customer service skills
* Be able to work independently and collaboratively
This is a Client Side officer role and involves building projects based in a fascinating complex. You will ideally be tertiary qualified and have relevant industry experience.
This is a 12-month maternity leave contract and you will bring an established background and working knowledge in a similar role. In return, you will be paid, on an agency basis, at a rate of around $450-500/day + Super.
