About us
This role offers a unique opportunity to work across two essential services within Hunter New England Local Health District. You will be based at Lakeview Assessment and Triage Service at Belmont Hospital two days per week as part of the Drug and Alcohol Clinical Services team, and John Hunter Hospital one day per week as part of the Clinical Liaison team.
Both services operate in fast-paced, patient-focused environments, supporting individuals and families at critical points of care. You will be part of supportive, multidisciplinary teams that value collaboration, respect, and high-quality, person-centred care.
About the role
As an Administration Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting the smooth day-to-day operations of both services. You will work closely with clinical and non-clinical staff to ensure patients, families, and stakeholders receive timely, accurate, and compassionate support.
Your day will include managing electronic systems such as CHIME, preparing and maintaining documentation including meeting minutes, and handling incoming and outgoing calls related to appointments and waitlists. You will help coordinate information flow, support service delivery, and contribute to a positive experience for patients and staff alike.
About you
You are calm, organised, and empathetic, with a strong ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic healthcare environment. You communicate clearly and professionally and are comfortable engaging with members of the public, clinical staff, and your colleagues.

Support and development
You will be supported by the Nurse Unit Manager and experienced administration colleagues who will provide guidance, mentoring, and day-to-day support.

Ongoing learning is encouraged, with access to relevant education, in-service training, and professional development opportunities to support your growth within the District.
