About us:The Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) provides high quality and safe, evidence-based nursing care to patients in the immediate post-surgical phase of their perioperative journey.The Perioperative Department comprises of 12 Operating Theatres and 16 PACU bays.The department supports the following Surgical Services for both adults and paediatric cases of varying complexity; Orthopaedics, Urology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, General, Vascular, ENT, FascioMaxilliary, Emergency, Trauma, Ophthalmology, Plastics and Reconstruction.Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service provide an extensive range of health services at more than 30 regional, rural and remote facilities across a geographical area of 142,900 square kilometres.
