SA Health is seeking an exceptional Paediatrician to join our dedicated team at the Mt Barker Hospital within the Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network. This is a part-time, ongoing position based in the picturesque Adelaide Hills region.
As a Paediatrician at SA Health, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional, safe, and personalised care to our youngest patients. This key position is responsible for servicing a sustainable governed Paediatric Model across the Mt Barker site, driving growth, self-sufficiency, and training agendas in line with the Board's strategic intent and BHFLHN values.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Provide clinical leadership, promoting high standards of care and ensuring the delivery of integrated, evidence-based paediatric services at Mt Barker.
- Collaborate with the Paediatric Head of Unit to oversee quality improvement initiatives, manage clinical services, and participate in teaching and research activities.
- Ensure adherence to SA Health guidelines, maintain high standards of clinical practice, and contribute to policy development in areas such as child protection, medication management, infection control, and risk mitigation.
- Provide paediatric care consistent with the Clinical Services Capability Framework, ensuring appropriate documentation, clinical handover, and management of complex cases.
- Contribute across multiple areas of Paediatrics, including inpatient care, neonatal care (for infants greater than 34 weeks), and community-based multidisciplinary assessments.
- Foster interdisciplinary collaboration by working closely with senior clinical staff, healthcare providers, stakeholders, and the community to achieve key organisational performance measures.
- Participate in the development of interdisciplinary models of care, aligning with best practices and emerging evidence to improve patient outcomes.
- Promote a learning environment by supporting teaching, training, and research activities, encouraging a culture of continuous learning within the team.
- Participate in the Paediatric roster, including on-call duties, to ensure the availability of paediatric services at all times.
**Qualifications and Experience**:
- Bachelor of Medicine (MBBS) or equivalent.
- Appropriate Specialist Qualifications FRACP or equivalent and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist Paediatric registration.
- Demonstrated clinical expertise and experience in Paediatrics.
