We are seeking a Configuration Management Officer to support the control, accuracy, and coordination of technical information across large, multi‑disciplinary engineering projects. This role is well‑suited to someone who excels with structured processes, detailed documentation, and working closely with engineering, production, and project teams to maintain consistency throughout the lifecycle of complex assets.
You will help ensure that configuration data is properly captured, maintained, and communicated, enabling clear traceability of changes and supporting key project milestones from design through to delivery and sustainment.
The Opportunity
In this position, you will contribute to the effective management of configuration baselines, support change processes, and assist with audits and reporting activities. You’ll be part of a team responsible for maintaining the integrity of technical information in a highly regulated environment, ensuring that project stakeholders always have access to accurate and up‑to‑date configuration records.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting the coordination of Configuration Management activities across assigned projects.
* Maintaining configuration data, documentation, and change records within relevant management systems.
* Assisting with the preparation and close‑out of CM deliverables and project documentation.
* Contributing to configuration audits and associated reporting.
* Preparing Configuration Status Accounting information to provide visibility of baselines and approved changes.
* Assisting with the Engineering Change process, including tracking, coordination, and impact assessment.
* Following established CM procedures to ensure consistency and compliance.
* Identifying opportunities to improve CM tools, processes, and workflows.
* Working collaboratively with engineering, production, quality, supply chain, and project teams.
About You
You are organised, detail‑focused, and comfortable working within structured processes. You enjoy supporting technical teams, ensuring documentation and data are accurate, complete, and well‑controlled.
Essential
* Certificate IV or higher in a relevant technical or engineering discipline.
* Demonstrated experience working with structured processes, documentation, or technical records.
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with data or document management systems.
* Australian Citizenship to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance
Desirable
* 2 years’ experience in Configuration Management or a related discipline.
* Exposure to engineering, manufacturing, defence, maritime, or similar technical environments.
* Understanding of configuration control, engineering change processes, or PLM systems.
* Relevant trade, maritime, or engineering qualifications.
