Your New Role and Responsibilities
We procure, inspect, test and ship various protective equipment. In addition, we train both new and existing defence personnel to use the supplied equipment. As technology improves, so does our focus on equipment that protects and responds to developing CBRN threats.
This team operates from the site five (5) days per week. To ensure that equipment is shipped successfully to Australian defence locations, team members travel to these locations for 1–2 nights to ensure they arrive.
Located at our site in Prestons and reporting to the Production Supervisor, the duties of the Production Operator include:
* Maintain the asset register and build records
* Inspect and prepare returned equipment for laundry and minor repairs.
* Perform basic technical tasks like equipment calibrations.
* Respond to customer enquiries and changes to their requirements.
* Load and unload containers of equipment – sometimes by hand (up to 20 kg boxes) and/or forklift.
* Ensure a safe and healthy work environment by following EHS policies and WHS Act standards.
What You'll Bring To Make An Impact
* Completion of a High School Certificate (Year 12) or equivalent.
* Experience in warehousing and inventory maintenance.
* Valid Driver's Licence and Forklift Licence (or willingness to obtain one).
* Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline AGSVA security clearance.
* Production operator experience in manufacturing environments, using SOPs and process flow diagrams (desirable).
