What is the role?
There is now an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join the Engineered to Order (ETO) Engineering team on a permanent, full-time basis.
Our ETO Engineering team ensures RME's engineering outputs are fit for consumption for our Customers. The ETO team generates designs enabling the manufacturing and service of RME's product offerings. The Mechanical Engineer role will complete assigned design tasks with high levels of quality and efficiency and will be required to plan and perform professional engineering work with minimal detailed supervision.
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the layout, design, and analysis of high-quality mining equipment. This role will create designs that prioritise safety, manufacturability, serviceability, and cost, whilst ensuring the highest of standards in every task. Additionally, this role will contribute to improvement projects and the management of problem reports, change requests, and notice for assigned projects. The Mechanical Engineer functions within a team to effectively support customers and meet RME's goals and objectives.

To be successful in this role, you will possess:
1. Mechanical Engineering Degree
2. At least 5 years' experience working in an engineering design, manufacturing, or service support environment, utilising enterprise level 3D CAD modelling package and demonstrated experience in detailed Finite Element Analysis
3. Demonstrable problem solving skills and the application of these within an engineering design team
4. Ability to work under minimal close supervision
The ideal candidate may also possess:
1. RPEQ certification or actively on a pathway to achieving certification
2. Lateral thinking skills, with the ability to approach problems in a creative manner
3. Demonstrable experience applying engineering risk management practices
4. Considerable originality and ingenuity in detailed mechanical and hydraulic designs
