PABULA PTY LTD is a progressive farming enterprise dedicated to sustainable crop production, sheep production and the adoption of innovative agricultural technologies. We are seeking a motivated Agricultural and Agritech Technician to support on-farm operations, assist with research-driven improvements, and help optimise productivity across our systems.

Location: Cuballing, WA 6311 | Employment type: Permanent, Full Time | Salary: $97,000 – $110,000 per year
Responsibilities
* Collect, record and analyse crop, soil and environmental data to support on-farm decision-making and diagnose nutrient limitations.
* Support design and improvement of planting, fertilization and harvesting.
* Conduct field testing, sampling and monitoring programs to track plant health, nutrient availability and soil performance to maximise productivity.
* Operate, calibrate, monitor and maintain agricultural machinery, GPS-guided equipment and precision-ag technologies.
* Assist in implementing trial plots, evaluating new crop varieties, and monitoring agronomic outcomes and ensure industry and regulatory standards are complied with.
* Prepare technical notes, field observations, data collection and seasonal reports for management.
* Monitor devices and technology systems to track crop growth.
* Identify and support pest, weed and disease surveillance activities and report emerging issues promptly, implement control and prevention strategies.
* Assist in testing, planning harvesting and use of optimum land usage, and provide advice on farming techniques.
* Technical support for innovative agricultural technologies, including automation of tools and farm management software.
* Recommendation for farm production systems and operational improvements.
Responsibilities (operational)
* Ensure data collection and field measurements are carried out accurately and consistently.
* Maintain a high standard of equipment care, ensuring machinery, sensors and monitoring tools are functioning reliably.
* Work closely with the farm manager to deliver operational requirements during key seasonal periods such as seeding, spraying and harvest.
* Assist in coordinating safe work practices and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
* Liaise with agronomists, contractors and suppliers to support smooth day-to-day farm operations.
* Uphold environmental stewardship principles, ensuring sustainable and efficient use of farm resources.
* Contribute to planning discussions by providing evidence-based insights from field observations and trial results.
Skills
* Strong practical understanding of cropping systems, plant health and modern farm production methods.
* Ability to operate and troubleshoot agricultural machinery and precision-ag technologies.
* Competent in data entry, field measurements, and basic technical reporting.
* Good problem-solving skills, especially in dynamic field conditions.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a small team.
* Capability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise work during busy seasonal periods.
* Sound knowledge of safe farm work practices and equipment handling.
Qualifications
* Certificate III or IV in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Horticulture, Agricultural Technology, or a closely related field OR equivalent experience.
* Valid manual driver's licence (or equivalent).
* Machinery operation tickets/licences (e.g., tractor, forklift, quad bike) highly regarded.
